    Super blahs …

Congrats to the Steelers for winning the big game. I feel sorry for the Cards, though. That was a really heartbreaking way to lose. But now, on to the important stuff — the commercials. 😎

Overall, I thought the commercials were pretty weak this year. I liked the Clydesdale commercials, especially the one with the horse playing fetch. But then again, these are always my favorites. I also enjoyed the Audi commercial with Jason Stratham that was a bit of a spoof of Stratham’s Transporter character. Other than that, though, nothing really blew my socks off.

The one with Carlos Boozer of the Utah Jazz started out well, but then, it got a little sappy. And I had no idea what they were advertising. The Olympics? Jewelry? Buying stuff online?

The beer commercials were lame and not funny at all, along with the car and cell phone commercials. Overall, they were all just … meh. They didn’t even show any cool movie trailers this year. Even G.I. Joe looked cheesy.

And the commercial for Heroes where they are playing football with all the NFL greats … I hope you got a lot of money for that, John Elway. Because it was lame.

I wasn’t that impressed with the halftime show, either. Half the time, I couldn’t even understand what Bruce was saying/singing. And I felt real sorry for the cameraman he slammed his crotch into when he did his run-and-slide move. The NFL should just get Jimmy Buffett to do the halftime show next year. Seriously. Call Buffett now.

  • You know your hands are cold …

When the biometric scanner at work won’t scan your hand. Evidently, my hands are as cold as death today.

I really need to make myself a pair of gloves with the fingertips cut out so I can still type and keep my hands warm. Yeah, I think I’ll be rocking some hobo gloves at the office soon …

  • Weekend plans …

    1) Write some more on Quiver, my young adult fantasy. I’m up to 16,000 words and change, and I want to crank at out least 10,000 more (craptastic) words this weekend. We’ll see how much my carpal tunnel wrist actually lets me get done.

    2) Finish reading No Rest for the Wicked by Kresley Cole. I’m so digging her Immortals After Dark series.

    3) Start reading a new book.

    4) Resist the urge to go to Books-A-Million and see what’s new. Must … resist … shiny … covers …

    5) Drag Wheezley to Office Depot. Because I have coupons and there is a serious dearth of Sharpies on my desk. Wha-ha-ha! 😈

What about you guys? Got any big weekend plans?

  • Shock the world …

How about them Cardinals? I think I’ll have to root for them in the Super Bowl, just because it’s such a great story — and because they haven’t won a title in something like 60 years.

Sorry Wheezley, sorry Super Librarian Amy (both of whom are die-hard Steelers fans).

Wheezley also pointed out that somewhere there is probably a person who bet way back at the beginning of the season that the Cardinals would win the Super Bowl this year. I wonder what the odds were on a bet like that. Wouldn’t you like that payoff, if they pull it off? 😎
