    So I mailed my taxes in over the weekend. Painful, as always. Self-employment tax, which authors have to pay, really, really sucks. 👿

    I also have a day job, which is in a different state from where I live. And wouldn’t you know it, but the state that I work in has a state income tax. This year, I had to send them a check for $9.

    Evidently, all the money that the state takes out of my paycheck during the year isn’t enough to cover the state income tax. No, they need $9 more. Sigh … :rolleyes:

  • The nose knows …

    That spring is near. It was beautiful here this weekend — 75 and sunny. Unfortunately, along with spring comes the return of my allergies. Which meant I spent a good portion of the weekend sneezing.

    Trees and flowers really don’t need pollen to grow, do they? Because my nose could certainly do without it … :rolleyes:

    So I hope everyone had a good Valentine’s Day this weekend. I did. Wheezley and I went out to dinner, ate way too much food, swapped presents, and watched bad movies on TV.

    As a result, I have several new books to read, including Graceling, The Stepsister Scheme, The Way of Shadows, and Blue-Eyed Devil (which I already started and am loving).

    Now, I love me some books. But Wheezley got me something even better — and cheesier. I am now the proud owner of – wait for it, wait for it – an A-Team T-shirt!

    Yes, I can now wear my T-shirt while I watch the DVDs of my favorite TV show. It’s really sad how happy this makes me. 😎

  • Spring is in the air …

    After a week of snow and cold temps, the weather here is beautiful today. Like, in the 60s beautiful — and it’s supposed to be this way all week. Makes me feel like spring is just around the corner … :bubbles:
