Get out and vote today …

Because you have the wonderful freedom to.

Because folks have died and sacrificed so much so we can have this right.

Because people in other countries don’t have this choice.

And because you’ve got no right to bitch about things if you don’t. :joecool:

Rhegan and I went to vote first thing this morning. I plan on taking her with me as much as I can so she grows up understanding how important it is.

She seemed excited, but that may be because the old ladies in line kept cooing at her.

To expand on a thought from George Carlin, I think you can only complain if you vote and the person you vote for doesn’t win. If you vote and help elect someone that turns out to be a huge failure — Than you caused it. Where as a person who doesn’t vote can not be blamed for the mess you created. Voting is a great responsibility — I feel good about what I did today. I just hope I feel the same way later on.

Amy — Of course they’d be cooing at her. She’s a sweet cutie. :bubbles:

Brian — I think the process of voting is the most important thing, no matter who you vote for. My point was that if you didn’t at least take the time to vote, then you shouldn’t complain about who did or didn’t get elected because you didn’t do anything to make your opinion heard when it counted.

As for who wins and what they do … regardless of how it went, I doubt things will really change that much. The system is just too convaluted. Or maybe I’m just too jaded …
