First Frost prequel e-story released …

First Frost is finally here! Happy release day to me! Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah! Okay, okay, I’ll quit huzzahing now.

First Frost is a prequel e-story in my Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series. Here’s the description:

I am Gwen Frost, and I have a Gypsy gift.  It’s called psychometry — that’s a fancy way of saying that I see images in my head and get flashes of other people’s memories off almost everything I touch, even guys.

My gift makes me kind of nosy. Okay, okay, maybe a lot nosy — to the point of obsession sometimes. I want to know everything about everyone around me. But even I don’t want to know the secret that a girl in my class is hiding or the terrible loss that will send me to a new school — Mythos Academy, where the teachers aren’t preparing us for the SATs, but to battle Reapers of Chaos.  Now I have no friends and no idea how my gift fits in with all these warrior whiz kids.  The only thing I do know is that my life is never, ever going to be the same …

First Frost takes place before the events in Touch of Frost, the first book in the Mythos Academy series. You can read an excerpt here. It is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc. as 99-cent download.

You don’t have to read First Frost to start or enjoy the Mythos Academy series, but if you want to see exactly how Gwen winds up at the academy or get an early feel for the books, you might enjoy it.

Happy reading, everyone! 😉

Definitely enjoyed this one! Looks like a interesting world and Gwen has a lot of potential. 😀 Of course, I’ve already pre-ordered A Touch of Frost because, well, you wrote it, duh!!

Welcome back to the blog life! I hope you have a Happy 4th. I’ll be sure to get the prequel as soon as I get a chance. (It’s newsletter deadline week, and I’m scrambling to edit and get it all done. Bleh!) I don’t know how you did managed a newspaper because after 15 pages, I’m about done and happy that I have three months until the next one!

    Stay Safe!

Thanks! It was nice to have a break, but I’m glad to be back. I didn’t actually manage the newspaper — I worked in the features department as a page designer, but it was definitely a grind. We usually had at least 15 pages of content to do a week — and sometimes more if we had special sections. So good luck!

Will this story be released for other e-reader stores? I own a Sony Reader and it’s not available on their store. 🙁 I really want to read this though. Sounds awesome and I can’t wait for Touch of Frost! 😀

Hmm. I’m not sure. I’ll have to ask my editor. I know it’s on Amazon and B&N. I have to admit that I’m not at all savvy when it comes to the various ereaders and the formats. I do know that there’s a free Kindle app that you can download so you can read Kindle books/stories in your computer. So maybe you can read it that way?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and Touch of Frost. Only three weeks to go until the book is out. 😉

I read it in one sitting. Barely whet my appetite (:p) bc now I’m even more anxious for Touch of Frost. Awesome story as usual, Jennifer!

Cool. Glad you enjoyed it. And not too much longer to wait. Only three weeks until Touch of Frost is out. I hope you like the book even more than the story. 😉

      • Tabitha says:

Oh no. I just realized that the kindle format isn’t release til 8/1. Do you know why the release dates are different like that and will it always differ between pb and kindle? I’ve only noticed this happening for certain books…in any case this makes my conflict to order between pb or e easier. Pb it is! 😀

        • Jennifer Estep says:

Actually, that’s a mistake. The ebook of Touch of Frost will be out in July 26 just like the paperback version will so you should be able to get it for Kindle, Nook, etc. on July 26. The date is supposed to be getting fixed. Anyway, however you decided to read it, I hope you enjoy the book. 😉
