Bookmarks, e-ARCS, and More

Bookmarks, bookmarks, bookmarks

One of the coolest things about having a book published is getting to make bookmarks for it.

I currently offer bookmarks for Spider’s Bite, Web of LiesVenom, Tangled Threads, Spider’s Revenge, and By a Thread in my Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series. I’ll be getting bookmarks made for Widow’s Web when the cover art becomes available.

Bookmarks are also available for Touch of Frost, Kiss of Frost, and Dark Frost in my Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series. I’ll be getting bookmarks made for Crimson Frost, the fourth book, when the cover art becomes available.

Bookmarks are free to readers, bookstores, libraries, reading groups, etc. However, please note that I ask folks to send me a self-addressed stamped envelope with two first-class U.S. stamps (88 cents) on it in order to get the bookmarks (this helps me cover postage costs). If you are overseas, you must send me a SASE with at least $2 in U.S. postage on it or include that much in international postage coupons with your envelope. Also, be sure your envelope is large enough to hold the bookmarks, which are 2 by 8 inches.

No matter if you are in the U.S. or overseas, if you send me an envelope that does not have the right amount of postage on it, I will not return it to you or send you the bookmarks. I simply get too many requests to be able to cover all the postage costs myself.

Still interested in getting the free bookmarks? Then send me an e-mail for more information.

Guest blogs, interviews, and e-ARCS

I’m available to do guest blogs and interviews for book blogs and other sites, as my schedule permits. E-ARCs (electronic advanced reading copies) of my books are also available to reviewers, librarians, booksellers, and others. If you’d like me to appear on your site or would like an e-ARC of one of my books, send me an e-mail.

However, please note that the e-ARCs are for those people who have dedicated book review sites and blogs. Some examples of book review blogs include Fiction Vixen, Smexy Books, and The Book Smugglers. You don’t have to like my books, but if you ask for an e-ARC, then I expect you to read it. I also ask that people who request an e-ARC read and review the book in a timely fashion, especially if it is a new release, and send me a link of their review when it is posted, even if they don’t like the book.

Don’t e-mail me if you just want to read the book for free. That is not what the e-ARCs are for. Also, if I send you an e-ARC and find out that you have pirated the book — in other words, posted it online for free — I will report you to my publisher, and you will not receive any more e-ARCS from me. Ever.

No-Spoiler policy

So many people have e-mailed me and asked what happens next in the Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series that I’ve decided to enact a spoiler policy. This same policy also applies to my Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series.

It’s very flattering that folks want to know what’s coming up for Gin, Finn, Owen, Jo-Jo, Sophia, and the rest of the folks in Ashland, as well as Gwen, Logan, Daphne, and Carson up on Cypress Mountain. I really do appreciate all the interest in my books. However, I’ve decided that I’m not going to answer specific, detailed questions about what happens in the next book or give out spoilers anymore.

I’m doing this for a couple of reasons. One, I never know how much of a spoiler someone really wants — in other words, how specific she wants me to be and how much she wants to know. Second, I don’t want the information to leak online and potentially ruin upcoming books for people who don’t like or stay away from spoilers. So no more spoilers from me.

I will say that the back cover copy for the books provides some spoilers. So if you really want to know what’s coming up for Gin, Gwen, and the other characters, read the back cover copy for the books on the Books at a Glance page.

Appearances

I usually do a few book signings, talks, workshops, and more throughout the year. I post upcoming events on my Facebook and Twitter pages a few days before they happen. However, I don’t have many events planned for 2012 due to my writing schedule.
