Better than a cover model, baby …

Romance writers sometimes get accused of writing about unrealistic men. Of making up guys who do and say things no mortal man ever would. I frequently accuse my significant other of crushing romance under his shoe like a bug.

And then, he goes and does something totally sweet and unexpected.

On Saturday, he surprised me with a silver necklace in honor of Karma Girl’s release. The necklace was nice enough in and of itself.

But wait, there’s more.

Because on the end of this necklace dangled … wait for it … wait for it … a book charm!

A silver rectangular book charm with a teeny diamond set in the center. (Actually, the book was a Bible, but he had the jewelers grind the words off so it would just look like a book. I don’t think God will mind … too much.) I admit it — I melted a little. All right, a whole lot.

But wait, there’s more.

Because I’ve also been told by my significant other — hypothetically of course — that I might be receiving some Karma Girl T-shirts in the near future. Again, this is just hypothetical. But stiil. Melting a little more.

My mom and grandma also gave me congrats cards and yummy chocolate cake yesterday too. 😎

What about you? What have you or others done to mark the release of your first book? Inquiring minds want to know …

That is awesome! Congratulations on all your well deserved goodies!
I just wanted to come back and say the ending was fantastic! Loved the book, gave it to my husband to read. He is excited to start it. I can not wait for Hot Mama and more Fiera!

Thank you! I appreciate the good thoughts.

And I’m so glad you enjoyed the book! Thank you for letting me know how you liked the ending.

Hot Mama comes out Nov. 6. Fiera is a lot of fun, and not nearly as angsty as Carmen. The first chapter is up on the Web site, if you haven’t read it yet. Also, I’ll be posting some extras and teasers from Hot Mama in a few months. So, come back soon for more Bigtime. 😀

I love the book with a diamond idea. That’s a really thoughtful gift. I have no idea what my husband will buy me when I sell. I do know he expects me to sell for enough money to buy him a sailboat. A toy one, maybe. 😆

I’m going to read the first chapter now. 🙂

It was really thoughtful. I got a little misty-eyed when he gave it to me, and I’ve been wearing it all week long.

Yeah, unless you become the next Nora overnight (fingers crossed), a toy sailboat might be the way to go.

    The first chapter of what?
