At one job I had, I clocked in/out with a fingerprint scanner. I learned that it took the scanner long enough to do its job for me to recite two lines of poetry:

“Let those who worship evil’s might,
Beware my power — GREEN LANTERN’S LIGHT!”

PR — I don’t really know how it scans, just that I have to slap my finger on it when I check in. But it doesn’t seem to like cold hands or wet ones. Or when I use the hand sanitizer stuff that’s right next to it.

What, precisely, is the scanner scanning? If it’s your palmprint, I don’t see why the temperature of your hands would make any difference.
