Personally I don't like birds. Maybe that's why Cap'n (the conure) doesn't like me. He probably has some crazy sixth sense that makes him realize I don't like him all that much.

My husband fancies himself a "pirate". He even has his own Jack Sparrow costume which he made all by his lonesome. (I'm talking picking out material, cutting patterns/material, and sewing, all with limited help.) He actually wanted a macaw - which is a HUGE bird. I talked him down to a smaller more economical variety. Hence the macaw. I still have yet to figure out his facintaion with pirates, although I'm pretty sure it may be because I have a crush on Captain Jack Sparrow. Um, who knows.

Oh yes, my significant other has definitely been suckered in by the cuteness factor. I will not be swayed so easily ... I hope.

A parrot, huh? I've never really gotten why people would want birds as pets. All the ones I've seen have been very moody and temperamental. Or maybe they just don't like *me*.

That is exactly how they sucker you in, all that sweet, tiny cuteness just demands love and attention. It's been my experience that hormones play a big part as well, take for instance when I was pregnant and ended up with 6 kittens.

My husband and I constantly debate which animal belongs to who. He claims the bird and fish and adamantly claims the rest are mine. He especially hates the cats, and they don't particularly like him either.. I only claim one cat, one dog, and the rabbit. In my opionion the rest are our daughters. (A big plus to having a kid is being able to place the blame on them!)

A conure is a type of parrot. This one talks up a storm and chases the dog around. He's tmepermental in that he does not like me. I can't go near him wihtout him screaming at me, which sounds exactly like he's cussing me. He talks, usually only to my husband and the dog.

Most baby animals are exceptionally cute -- that's how they sucker you in.

It's not my kitten, it's my significant other's. I was raised as a dog person, but he's a cat guy. We've debated the merits of both on more than one occasion.

That does sound like a zoo. What exactly is a conure?

We have a zoo... 2 cats, 1 inside dog, 3 outside dogs, 2 foster dogs, a conure, a rabbit, and a tank full of fish. I'm a sucker for strays.

AWWW, the kitty's a cutie. Of course, I've never seen an ugly kitty.

I have a gray cat and an English setter, field type, both females and both demanding a lot of my time. I get my exercise running up and down the steps to let my dog in and out.

A seagull? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone having those as a pet before. That does sound like quite the menageria.

Figaro? Cute name! A goat? Hmmm ... I think I'd draw the line at that one too.

I guess I've always been a one-pet kind of girl. I got my dog Lucky, when I was a kid. He lived to be 19. We just put him to sleep last year. I still miss him. Sigh.

Awww. The new addition is adorable.
I have two dogs, a black lab who is nine and named Lily and a dalmation mix that is three and her name is Angel (my daughter thought it would work, well you know how names go she is more devil spawn than an angel). We also have a kitten who is about 4 months old and the only boy animal in the house, he is a tuxedo and his name is Figaro.
My husband keeps talking to me about getting a pigmy goat. Ummm.. no
