    GET THE HARDCOVER BOOK:

Only Cold Depths is book #4 in my Galactic Bonds science-fiction fantasy series. It will be released Oct. 29. Only Cold Depths is the next full-length book featuring Vesper Quill and Kyrion Caldaren, and it picks up a few weeks after the events of Only Hard Problems, book #3.

Only Cold Depths will be available in print, ebook, and audiobook. The print and ebooks are online now, and the audiobooks will go online sometime this summer.

    ONLY COLD DEPTHS EBOOK:

After Only Cold Depths comes out, I am planning to write at least one more book about Vesper/Kyrion. I also hope to write a full-length book for Zane with his own romance. So as of right now, I am planning to write at least 2 or 3 more books in the series — maybe more, depending on reader interest/demand.

I appreciate all the nice comments about the Galactic Bonds books. Thank you for reading!  😎

    ONLY COLD DEPTHS DESCRIPTION:

“This is space opera at its finest.”—Ilona Andrew, #1 New York Times bestselling author on Only Bad Options

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Estep continues her Galactic Bonds series with a new, action-packed adventure that blends science fiction, fantasy, and historical romance. This rollicking space opera features a mix of magic and technology, along with a soulmates story and “Pew! Pew! Pew!” battle scenes. Perfect for fans of Star Wars, Dune, Bridgerton, and Pride and Prejudice.

    A WOMAN WHO CAN’T CONTROL HER POWER . . .
Everyone knows the name Vesper Quill. I used to be a lowly lab rat working in a Regal-owned corporation, but thanks to my truebond with Kyrion Caldaren, I’m now one of the most wanted fugitives in the Archipelago Galaxy.

Kyrion and I have spent the last few weeks avoiding bounty hunters, along with the Arrows, the elite Imperium warriors tasked with capturing us. Now we’ve journeyed to a distant planet that’s supposed to be a refuge for truebonded couples, but when new enemies appear, we’re once again in grave danger.

As a seer, inventor, and engineer, I’m skilled at figuring out how things work, but I can’t quite understand my growing magic and newfound psionic abilities. The clock is ticking, and if I don’t figure out how to tap into my power, I’ll doom myself to a gruesome fate, along with Kyrion.

    A MAN WHO CAN’T LET GO OF HIS FEAR . . .
As Kyrion Caldaren, I’m used to being respected and feared, especially given my telekinesis, telepathy, telempathy, and other powerful psionic abilities. What I’m not used to is being on the run, but as a rogue Arrow, I’ll do anything to protect Vesper.

Just when I think we’ve finally reached a safe haven, trouble finds us again, reigniting all my fears about losing Vesper.

When the cold depths of our enemies’ plan are finally revealed, the truth is more terrifying than anything I could imagine. Soon Vesper and I are fighting for our lives again, but even with our growing truebond power, this is one battle we might not survive.

    All about Kitty Boodle . . .

    MONDAY MORNING MAILBAG

Kitty Boodle laying in the grass looking cuteQuestion: How old is Kitty Boodle?

Answer: Kitty Boodle will be 9 years old in November.

Kitty Boodle was a stray that wandered up to Little Debbie’s house one November day. Little Debbie (aka my mom) started feeding her, and the rest is history. Boodle was still more kitten than full-grown back then, so that’s why we think she will be 9 (or thereabouts) this year.

Growing up, we always had dogs, so Boodle is the first cat we’ve ever had. She is a totally spoiled, demanding little diva princess who knows exactly how adorable she is. 🙂

Don’ let that sweet face fool you. Boodle is quite the little huntress. One day a few years ago, I went into Little Debbie’s house. Boodle was nowhere to be seen. I came back outside five minutes later, and Boodle was on the porch – along with the live snake (!) she had just caught. I screamed my head off.

One of the smartest things I ever did was start putting a photo of Boodle in my monthly reading recommendation newsletter. I get more comments about Boodle than anything else, even my own books. LOL.

Little Debbie keeps saying that Boodle needs “royalties” for appearing in my newsletter every month. So I pay her in cat treats and belly rubs.

And that is the story of Kitty Boodle. She has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives, and I hope you all enjoy reading about her and seeing her photos.

How are your fur babies doing this summer?

    To re-read or not to re-read …

    MONDAY MORNING MAILBAG

Question: Do you ever re-read favorite books by other authors for fun?

Answer: Nope! I can’t remember the last time I re-read a book by another author for fun.

Why not? A big part of it is how many times I have to read – and re-read and re-read (!) – my own books.

For example, I think I’ve read Only Cold Depths, Galactic Bonds #4, about seven times now from start to finish, and I am thoroughly sick of it. LOL.

After reading through the same book over and over, the last thing I want to do is re-read another book, even if it’s by another author and I absolutely loved the book when I first read it.

I used to re-read books all the time when I was a kid, especially things like The Baby-Sitters Club and Sweet Valley High. But as an adult, I hardly ever re-read. Why not? Mainly because I have more than 1,000 ebooks waiting on my tablet that I’ve never read before.

I also don’t rewatch a lot of movies/TV shows. Again, mainly because there are sooo many new movies/shows to stream all the time. On the rare occasions I do rewatch something, it’s usually just a favorite episode or a really cool fight scene. It is a very rare movie/show that I love enough to rewatch the whole thing again.

What about you all? Do you re-read favorite books? Why or why not?

Only Cold Depths, Galactic Bonds #4, will be out Oct. 29. The ebooks are online now, and the print and audiobooks will go online later this summer. Thank you for reading.

No more Crown of Shards books …

    MONDAY MORNING MAILBAG

Question: Are you planning to write any more books in your Crown of Shards/Gargoyle Queen world?

Answer: At this time, I am not planning to write any more books/stories in my Crown of Shards/Gargoyle Queen epic fantasy world.

Why not? Well, it comes down to publisher interest, sales, and time, as most things do in publishing.

Kill the Queen cover art featuring woman holding a bloody crownKill the Queen is book #1 in my Crown of Shards series. It focuses on Everleigh Blair, a royal who is distantly in line for the throne who becomes a gladiator to save her kingdom from her villainous cousin.

Kill the Queen and the rest of the original Shards trilogy did/sold really well, which is why my publisher wanted more books, and I got to write the Gargoyle Queen trilogy about Gemma Ripley.

However, the Gargoyle Queen series didn’t do/sell nearly as well as the original Shards trilogy. Why not? I think the books coming out during the pandemic was a big part of it, but I don’t really know. Some book series do well, while others don’t. Not having a concrete answer to questions like this always drives me crazy, but there is nothing I can do about it. *shrugs*

I was planning to write a third trilogy about Delmira Morricone, but my publisher didn’t want any more books in my Crown of Shards world, so that’s the main reason I’m not writing any more books in my Shards world.

I could self/indie publish some books in my Shards world, but right now, my Galactic Bonds series is doing the best for me so that’s what I’m going to focus on.

Like I said before, it comes down to publisher interest, sales, and time. I have writing-related health issues, so my time to write is limited, and I need to concentrate on what is working for me right now.

If something changes, and I ever get the chance to write more books in my Crown of Shards world, I will post about that online.

I appreciate all the nice comments I’ve gotten about Evie’s and Gemma’s stories over the years. If you are looking for more romantasy books to read, you might want to check out my series. Thank you for reading.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT MY BIGTIME SERIES:

Karma Girl was my first published book ever, and it was first released in 2007 (!). The world has changed drastically since then, and over the years, I have updated some of the technology, etc. in the books, but looking back at the books now, there are still a lot of things I wish I had done differently. Thank you for reading! 😎

THE BIGTIME SERIES: VOLUME 2 DESCRIPTION:

New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Estep serves up action-packed, paranormal romance adventures with her Bigtime superhero series. Journey to a city that’s full of quirky, zany superheroes finding love while they battle over-the-top, evil ubervillains bent on world domination. Perfect for fantasy readers and comic book fans of Marvel Comics and DC Comics, along with the Wonder Woman show with Lynda Carter and the Batman show with Adam West.

The Bigtime Series: Volume 2 includes the following:

    Jinx—Book 3

But luck can be good or bad, and it seems like just as many embarrassing things happen to Bella as do positive ones. But Bella is going to need every bit of her good luck when she becomes the target of two ubervillains intent on stealing a prize sapphire.

    Nightingale—Book 4
Anxious brides. Drunken businessmen. Panicked partygoers. As Bigtime’s premiere event planner, Abby Appleby is capable of handling almost any crisis, but even she’s not prepared when she finds herself in the middle of a fight between superhero Talon and his ubervillain nemesis Bandit.

    Fandemic—Book 5

Piper Perez’s friends jokingly call her a fandemic—someone who is a superfan of all things superhero. The nickname is truer than anyone knows, especially since Piper can’t stop thinking about Swifte, the speedy hero who broke her heart. But when Swifte becomes the target of a ruthless killer, Piper will have to use all her fandemic knowledge to save the man she loves.
