    Spider’s Bite e-book on sale for $1.99 through May 2 …

Book #1Some of you may have seen this on my Facebook and Twitter sites already, but I wanted to let everyone know that the e-book of Spider’s Bite, Elemental Assassin #1, is on sale for $1.99 through Friday, May 2.

The Spider’s Bite e-book deal was originally at Barnes & Noble, but it looks like most of the other retailers, including Amazon and iTunes, have picked it up as well.

So I would check with your favorite e-book site and see if they have matched the price.

Spider’s Bite is available at the following sites: Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Books-A-Million / iTunes / Kobo

    Here is the book description:

My name is Gin, and I kill people.

They call me the Spider. I’m the most feared assassin in the South — when I’m not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don’t use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I’m out for revenge. And I’ll exterminate anyone who gets in my way — good or bad. I may look hot, but I’m still one of the bad guys. Which is why I’m in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this coldhearted killer needs when I’m battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction . . . especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

Oh, Gin. Things were so much simpler back then, weren’t they? You’ve made a lot more enemies since that first book. LOL.

Hope that everyone enjoys the e-book deal. Happy reading!

  • Checking out the e-TBR pile …

So I have a shiny new tablet/e-reader now, which I really like. And one of the best things about the tablet is that I can now read e-books.

Y’all. Downloading e-books is totally addictive. The books! The sales! The money I’m saving!

Okay, okay, so maybe that last one isn’t quite true, since I could easily download e-books until the cows come home. LOL. But it is really tempting to download an e-book for a couple of bucks … even if I still have about 30 print books in my TBR pile. So far, I’ve been pretty good about sticking to my budget. I only download a new e-book after I’ve read one that’s either on my tablet or one of the print ones in my TBR pile.

Today, I thought I would share some of the books waiting in my e-TBR pile. Note that the descriptions are from Goodreads:

Planning for LovePlanning for Love by Christi Barth

    Amazon / iTunes

I met Christi at the RT convention in Chicago in 2012, and we talked about her Aisle Bound series. I thought this one sounded like a fun, contemporary romance.

Hopeless romantic Ivy Rhodes and anti-Cupid Bennett Westcott request the pleasure of your company for their disaster of a courtship

Wedding planner Ivy Rhodes is the best in the business, and she’s not about to let a personal problem stop her from getting ahead. So when she’s asked to star in the reality TV show Planning for Love, it doesn’t matter that the show’s videographer happens to be a recent—and heartbreaking—one-night stand.

Bennett Westcott admits he didn’t handle his encounter with Ivy very well. But looking at her beautiful smile—and great body—through a camera lens every day? He can’t be faulted for suggesting they have some no-strings fun.

The more time they spend together, the more Ben realizes Ivy isn’t the wedding-crazed bridezilla he’d imagined. But if he doesn’t trust himself to make a relationship last, how can he convince Ivy to give him another chance?

Suddenly RoyalSuddenly Royal by Nichole Chase

    Amazon / iTunes

I saw this book reviewed over at Supernatural Snark a few weeks ago. It sounds like a cute, contemporary, new adult read.

Samantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working toward a master’s degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it’s to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed.

Alex D’Lynsal is trying to keep his name clean. As crown prince of Lilaria, he’s had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women—especially women in the public eye. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She’s stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone’s front-page news.

While Sam tries to navigate the new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.

So those are some of the books waiting on my e-reader. What books are in your e-TBR pile?

Print versions of Bigtime books available …

Some of you have seen these already, but I have released print versions of my Bigtime superhero paranormal romance books through Amazon’s CreateSpace.

Huzzah! I know that many folks still prefer print books, and I thought it would be cool to make the Bigtime books available in print versions as well. Also, with these books, that means that Nightingale, Bigtime book #4, is finally available in a print version as well.

Bigtime print booksThese books feature the new covers that are on the Bigtime e-books, and they are really nice, trade paperback books. Kim at Hot Damn Designs designed the covers, while Amy with Author EMS did the text formatting. Amy also helped me update the e-books and put together the Bigtime Series e-bundle.

    TRADE PAPERBACK PRICES

The list price for the print version of Karma Girl is $14.99 on Amazon. Note that this book also includes the holiday story A Karma Girl Christmas.

The list prices for the print versions of Hot Mama, Jinx, and Nightingale are $13.99 each on Amazon.

Since these are trade paperback books, they are more expensive than your usual $7.99 mass market books. Amazon requires you to set a minimum price, based on how many pages your book is, which factors in to how much it costs to print/produce.

But, on the bright side, Amazon also usually discounts the trade paperbacks at least a dollar or two.

Also, all of the books — Karma Girl, Hot Mama, Jinx, and Nightingale — are enrolled in the Kindle MatchBook program. That means that if you buy one of the trade paperbacks, that you can also download the Kindle e-book for that particular book for 99 cents if you want both a print and digital version.

    BIGTIME E-BUNDLE STILL AVAILABLE

The Bigtime SeriesAlso, the Bigtime Series e-bundle is still available. It includes all the works in my Bigtime series to date — the books Karma Girl, Hot Mama, Jinx, and Nightingale and the holiday story A Karma Girl Christmas.

The e-bundle was on sale for 99 cents, but that promotion has ended, and the price is now $9.99, which is still cheaper than buying all the e-books separately. I may put the e-bundle back on sale at some point, but it probably won’t be until much later in the year, perhaps during the holiday season.

Of course, you can also still buy all the titles as separate e-books if you are missing a few in your collection: Karma Girl, Hot Mama, Jinx, A Karma Girl Christmas, and Nightingale.

THE FUTURE OF THE BIGTIME SERIES

A lot of folks have asked me about my Bigtime series, and I am hoping to write and publish more in my Bigtime series. But, since I am self-publishing this series now, it takes quite a bit of time not only to write a book/story, but also to get the editing, cover, and formatting done.

Also, I am working on two more Elemental Assassin books this year — Poison Promise, out on July 22, and Book #12, tentatively set to be published in December. I’m also thinking about some ideas for some new series, both for adult and young adult books.

So my writing schedule is already pretty full for 2014, but I’m hoping to at least get started on a new Bigtime book or e-novella this year. We’ll see what happens.

Anyway, hope that everyone enjoys the new print versions and the e-bundle. Happy reading!

    A KARMA GIRL CHRISTMAS—HOLIDAY STORY

On Christmas Eve, Carmen Cole is assigned to guard toys, clothes, food, and more that are intended for needy children and their families. In the meantime, I hope that everyone enjoys the e-bundle. Happy reading!

    The Spider released …

Book #10So The Spider, the 10th book in my Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series, has been released today, Dec. 24. Woot! Woot!

The book is available in print, audio, and e-book formats from many retailers, including the following:

    Amazon / Barnes & Noble / Books-A-Million / iTunes / Kobo Audible

And here is the book description:

How did I end up in a career where I always have blood on my hands? Well, let me tell you a story about an assassin who thought she could do no wrong. . . .

Ten years ago. A blistering hot August night. I remember like it was yesterday. The night I, Gin Blanco, truly became the Spider. Killing people is what I do best, especially now that I’ve honed my Ice and Stone magic. But back then, I had yet to learn one very important rule: arrogance will get you, every single time.

This particular job seemed simple: murder a crooked building contractor with ties to ruthless Fire elemental Mab Monroe. My mentor, Fletcher Lane, had some misgivings, but I was certain that I had the situation under control . . . right up until I exposed my weaknesses to a merciless opponent who exploited every single one of them. There’s a reason assassins aren’t supposed to feel anything. Luckily, a knife to the heart can fix that problem, especially when I’m the one wielding it. . . .

This book is a prequel origin story that takes place about 10 years before the events of Spider’s Bite, the first book in the series. So readers will get to see the assignment that truly turned Gin into an assassin in The Spider. The book also delves a little deeper into Gin’s relationship with her mentor, Fletcher Lane.

But what I think is the most fun about the book is Gin “meeting” some of the secondary characters for the first time. There are also lots of little Easter eggs and references to people and places in the books that I hope fans of the series will enjoy.

This really was a fun book for me to write, and I hope that everyone enjoys reading more about Gin’s past and her relationship with Fletcher.

Happy reading and happy holidays, everyone!
