Bright Blaze of Magic, Black Blade #3, cover revealed …

Book #3Today, I am sharing the cover art for Bright Blaze of Magic, the third book in my Black Blade young adult urban fantasy series that will be out on April 26, 2016.

As of right now, this will be the third and final book in the series.

Bright Blaze of Magic will be available in print, e-book, and audiobook formats from all the usual retailers. The book is already available for pre-order at the following sites:

    Amazon Kindle / Amazon print / Books-A-Million / Google Play / IndieBound / Kobo

The audiobook will be available through Audible and Amazon, and Brittany Pressley will once again be the narrator. Those pre-order links should go up about six weeks before the publication date — so probably sometime in March.

And here is the book description. This doesn’t contain any real spoilers for the book/series, but if you absolutely do not want to be spoiled, you might want to skip reading the book description:

BAD THINGS ALWAYS COME IN THREES…

As a thief, I’m good at three things: hiding in the shadows, getting in and out unseen, and uncovering secrets. I put these skills to work for the Sinclair Family, one of the magical mobs that run the tourist town of Cloudburst Falls.

Everyone knows Victor Draconi wants to take over all the other Families—and kill every last Sinclair. What they don’t know is that I’m on to him, and no way will I let the man who murdered my mom get away with hurting all the other people I care about. Especially when I’ve got places to break into, stuff to steal, and Devon Sinclair fighting right by my side…

The heroine of Bright Blaze of Magic is Lila Merriweather, a 17-year-old thief who lives in Cloudburst Falls, West Virginia, a town dubbed “the most magical place in America.” Tourists come from around the world to tour all the magic-themed shops and attractions, as well as see monsters like tree trolls, copper crushers, and more in their natural habitats.

Lila does her best to stay off the grid and avoid the Families — or mobs — who control much of the town. But Lila finds herself caught in the middle of a brewing war between the Sinclairs and the Draconis, the two most powerful Families in town.

Hope that everyone enjoys the look at the cover art and the book description.

    SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES…

As a thief, I stick to the shadows as much as possible. But when the head of the Sinclair Family picks me to compete in the Tournament of Blades, there’s no escaping the spotlight—or the danger.

Even though he’s my competition, Devon Sinclair thinks I have the best shot of winning what’s supposed to be a friendly contest. But when the competitors start having mysterious “accidents”, it looks like someone will do anything to win—no matter who they hurt.

As if I didn’t have enough to worry about, mobster Victor Draconi is plotting against Devon and the rest of my friends, and someone’s going around Cloudburst Falls murdering monsters. One thing’s for sure. Sometimes, humans can be more monstrous than anything else …

    Spider’s Trap cover art …

Book #13I posted this on my Facebook and Twitter pages a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted to share the cover art for Spider’s Trap, Elemental Assassin #13, July 28.

The cover was once again done by Tony Mauro, and the model is Alexa Martino. From what I’ve been told, she has been Gin on all of the book covers.

I always enjoy seeing the covers and how tough, cool, and confident Gin looks. I especially like her shirt on this one. I think that’s a cool nod to the spider theme.

Spider’s Trap is up for pre-order at the following sites:

    Amazon Kindle / Amazon paperback / Books-A-Million / iTunes / Kobo

It should be up at other sites, like Barnes & Noble, soon (if it’s not already). Also, the audiobook will be available through Audible, although that pre-order link probably won’t go up until sometime in May. Audible pre-order links don’t usually go up until about six weeks before the publication date.

Here is the description for Spider’s Trap:

Keep your friends close but your enemies within stabbing distance.

One important lesson I’ve learned in the assassination business is that to be the best you have to roll with the punches. Now that I’m queen of Ashland’s underworld—by default, not by choice—a lot more punches are being thrown my way. But I suppose that’s the price of victory for taking down some of the underworld’s top dogs. Good thing I have my Ice and Stone magic to help me survive my volatile new position. Just when I think things are finally settling down, someone tries to murder me during a hush-hush underworld meeting. But the real surprise is how strangely familiar my shadowy assailant seems to be.

My job is to maintain order among killers, crooks, and thieves, and soon I’m embroiled in a bloody game where the ability to keep secrets could be the greatest superpower of all. My enemies have all sharpened their knives and laid their traps, waiting for me to fall. But this Spider weaves her own webs of death …

You can read the first chapter of Spider’s Trap here. Scroll down and click on the Read Excerpt tab, although beware of spoilers for previous books in the series, especially Black Widow.

I hope that everyone enjoys the cover. July 28 will be here before you know it.

    Black Widow cover revealed …

Black WidowToday, I am happy to share the cover art for Black Widow, Elemental Assassin #12.

Isn’t it cool? The art was once again done by the fabulous Tony Mauro, and I believe the cover model is Alexa, who has been Gin on all the covers so far. I think Tony and Alexa have really outdone themselves this time. This is one of my favorite covers of the whole series.

Spoiler warning: And here is the back cover copy for Black Widow. Please note that this does contain some spoilers, so if you absolutely do not want to be spoiled, you may want to skip reading the next few paragraphs.

There’s nothing worse than a cruel, cunning enemy with time to kill—and my murder to plan.

With wicked Fire elemental Mab Monroe long gone, you’d think I could finally catch a break. But someone’s always trying to take me down, either as Gin Blanco or my assassin alter-ago. Now along comes the Spider’s new arch-nemesis, the mysteriously named M. M. Monroe, who is gleefully working overtime to trap me in a sticky web of deceit.

The thing is, I’m not the only target. I can see through the tangled threads enough to know that every bit of bad luck my friends have been having lately is no accident—and that each unfortunate “coincidence” is just one more arrow drawing ever closer to hitting the real bulls-eye. Though new to Ashland, this M. M. Monroe is no stranger to irony, trying to get me, an assassin, framed for murder. Yet, as my enemy’s master plan is slowly revealed, I have a sinking feeling that it will take more than my powerful Ice and Stone magic to stop my whole life from going up in flames.

Black Widow will be published on Nov. 25. It is up for pre-order at Amazon, iTunes, and Books-A-Million. It should be up on Barnes & Noble and all the other usual book sites soon. The audio book will once again be available through Audible, although that pre-order link probably won’t go up until sometime in the fall.

In the meantime, hope everyone enjoys the cover. Cheers!
