Jennifer’s tentative book signing schedule for 2018 …

I will be doing a few events and book signings this spring/summer. As of right now, here are all of the events that I have planned for 2018:

May 5 I’ll be signing books at Mountain Empire Comics in Bristol, Tenn. as part of the store’s annual Free Comic Book Day events. Exact book signing time to be determined, but I’ll probably be at the store in the morning.

July 18-21 — I’ll be attending the Romance Writers of America’s annual conference in Denver, Colo. I will be doing some of the publisher signings for conference attendees, and there will be a free, public book signing from 3-5 p.m., Saturday, July 21.

July 28 — I’ll be signing books as part of ROB-CON at the MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. Exact book signing time to be determined.

The con (which runs from July 27-29) will feature dozens of authors, comic book artists, vendors, and more, so if you love comic books/fantasy/etc., you might want to check it out. Note that I will only be at the con on Saturday, July 28.

Please keep in mind that this schedule could change, due to life events and other factors.

Also, before you ask, yes, I would love to travel and do more events, but traveling is expensive, and I am swamped with writing deadlines. So I probably won’t be traveling very much this year.

    Fall library events …

I will be doing a couple of library events this fall. Here is the schedule, as of right now:

Sept. 23 — Johnson City Public Library, Johnson City, Tenn.

I will be signing books from 12:30-1:30 p.m., and then doing a Q&A from 1:30-2:15 p.m. at the Johnson City Public Library. This event is part of the library’s annual Lib Con, which runs all day on Sept. 23. I will be one of several authors and artists appearing, and there will be a costume contest, vendors, and more.

Oct. 14 — Washington County Public Library, Abingdon, Va.

I will be doing a Q&A and signing books at the Washington County Public Library. This event starts at 2 p.m. and is part of the library’s NEA Big Read programming. The library will be hosting several events throughout October and November as part of the Big Read.

Note: I will be signing and selling books at both events. I’ll probably have the first and the latest book in my various series — Elemental Assassin, Mythos Academy, Black Blade, and Bigtime. So if you plan to attend one of the events, and there is a specific book you want, you can contact me through Facebook, and I’ll try to bring a copy of that book.

    Rob-Con 2016 set for July 30-31 …

Rob-Con 2016Note: This post will also appear today at Magical Musings.

I’m doing something fun this upcoming weekend. I’ll be one of the many writers, artists, vendors, fans, and more attending Rob-Con 2016. The event will be held on July 30-31 at Viking Hall in Bristol, Tenn. from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days. Admission is $15 for one day or $20 for both days. Kids under 5 get in for free.

I will be signing books on Saturday only, July 30, starting at 9 a.m. and going until 1 p.m.

Rob-Con 2016 will feature writers and artists signing and selling their books and artwork, along with vendors who will have everything from comic books to toys to games. If it’s related to comic books, comic book movies/TV shows, or fantasy movies/TV shows, you can probably find it at Rob-Con 2016. Folks are encouraged to come in costume, and one of the highlights of the weekend is the costume contest, which will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 31.

Now, I don’t have a superhero costume, but I do have several superhero T-shirts (Captain America, Black Widow, etc.). So that’s what I’ll be wearing. I always see lots of folks wearing really cool superhero T-shirts, which usually leads to me going online and ordering more superhero T-shirts for myself. LOL.

Whether it’s a comic book convention like Rob-Con 2016 or a romance-writing convention like the RT Booklovers Convention, cons are always a lot of fun. It’s just really great to meet and hang out with people who are passionate about comics, books, writing, or whatever the con is about.

Comic book and fantasy conventions are held in towns all across the U.S. (and world). If you’re unsure if there’s a con in your area, ask the folks at your local comic book store if they can point you in the right direction. Here’s hoping that you can make it to a con sometime soon.

What about you guys? Do you plan to attend any conventions or book events this summer?

    Conference schedule for 2015 …

Today, I thought I would share my conference schedule for 2015:

May 2 — Mountain Empire Comics, Bristol, Tenn.

I’ll be signing here as part of the store’s annual Free Comic Book Day events. Some other authors and artists should be on hand, and there will be giveaways, sales, and more. Exact signing time to be determined.

May 12-17 — RT Booklovers Convention, Dallas Texas

I’ll be attending RT this year and participating in several events. You can find the panels, etc. that I will be on here. Note that you can use the Agenda tool to see which panels, etc. your favorite authors are scheduled to participate in. And check out the list of the authors signing at the Giant Book Fair on Saturday.

HOD Luncheon Banner 2015June 13 — Heart of Dixie Luncheon, Huntsville, Ala.

I’ll be attending the annual Heart of Dixie Luncheon. This one-day event features a meet-and-greet with the attending authors, lunch, and a book signing. The keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Sylvia Day, and you can see the list of authors attending here. Go here for more information.

Aug. 1 — Rob-Con, Viking Hall, Bristol, Tenn.

I’ll be signing at the con, which is hosted by Mountain Empire Comics. There will be lots of authors, artists, and venders at the con selling everything from books to comics to art. Exact signing time to be determined.

And that’s pretty much it for my conference schedule this year. I have four books out this year, so I will be writing, writing, writing instead of traveling all that much.

Hope to see you at one of the events. Cheers!

  • Rob-Con 2014 is approaching …

Today, I wanted to give a shout-out to Robert Pilk and John Stone at Mountain Empire Comics. They are gearing up for Rob-Con 2014, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 2 at Viking Hall in Bristol, Tenn.

I’ll be among the guests — writers, artists, and others — attending the con, and I’ll be signing books.

If you’ve never been before, Rob-Con is a really fun event. There are tons of comics, toys, figurines, games, and more for sale, and there is also a costume contest. If you like comics or just fantasy in general, come and check out the event this year.

    Hope to see you there.
