The books focus on Rinley Renard, a master thief and dryad who can communicate with sherwood and other trees, plants, and flowers. When her mysterious benefactor tasks Rinley with stealing a priceless relic, she is forced to return to her home kingdom of Feronia, which was conquered by the Caligan Empire twenty years ago.
