Since both Superman and Batman are DC characters, I don't believe that it is a rights issue. It seems to me that the reason Bruce hasn't appeared is because they believe that it could take away something from the Batman movies. I don't believe that, but it does seem to me that I read that once.

I think that Bruce has too many issues for Chloe. He would be a much better match for Lana. Of course almost all heroes have issues with their parents. I can't think of a hero of the top of my head that had two good parents. The few that had two parents -- The parents end up dead -- So perhaps a messed up childhood is a must to be a hero.

Overall, I'm not a huge Superman fan. I just think he's too good to really be relatable. I always liked Lex better than Clark on Smallville. Clark is such a Boy Scout, and Lex is so deliciously evil.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Chloe/Bruce Wayne hookup. They really need to have Batman on the show. I think that's some sort of rights issue though ...

I imagined from day one of Smallville that the reason Lex would go over to the dark side would be Lana. I pictured either Lana breaking his heart or perhaps being killed and that sending him toward his future as the evil guy he must become. During the first few seasons seeing Lex struggle with both the best and worst parts of his nature was very compelling. So perhaps the way in which the Lex/Lana relationship was used wasn't bad -- It just disappointed me.

I've also enjoyed the Green Arrow, and I think the appearance of Justice League characters has really been solid.

As for Chloe, I never wanted her to stop loving Clark. Of course I never saw the great appeal of Lana, and I always pulled for a Clark/Chloe relationship. Though I am glad to see her move on to Jimmy, who was a fine addition to the show.

Brian -- Overall, I thought season 6 (the one where Lex/Lana hooked up and got married) was very solid. I loved the Lex/Lana pairing and Justin Hartley as Green Arrow.

I watched the majority of that season (although that's about the only one). And I thought the episode with the JLA members was just fantastic. The wedding eppy where Lana finally (finally!) figured out Clark had powers was very well done too.

But yeah, I think the Lex/Lana pairing could have been played out more. Stretched out over the whole season, instead of having them get together/get married/get divorced in one season. A little rushed.

I'll probably watch the premiere just to see the JLA members again (although there's no Impulse/Kyle Gallagher in it from what I hear).

I love Chloe, but I've always wanted her to get rid of that torch she's carrying for Clark. That's part of the reason I quit watching after the end of the first season. Girl, he's always going to love Lana more. Do yourself a favor and move on.

And I fear there is more badness when it comes to men in store for Chloe this season, given what I've read on TV Guide. Can't they let the poor girl be happy for a while ...

I could never leave Smallville as long as Chloe is still in the mix. After the first few season I couldn't have pictured the show without Lex -- But now I'm ready to let go. It seems like they didn't really have a clear plan with him and Lana. That could have been a big story line that could have defined the series, and it seems like they just wasted it.

Alan Ball is going to run the show. He did Six Feet Under, a show I really liked, and he did the movie American Beauty -- A film that I love. Also with Anna Paquin, an actress I find to be very interesting on screen -- I think it could be very good.

Alison -- Middleman is on ABC Family, right? The one about the government agents that deal with the supernatural? I've seen the previews for that one ...

Brian and Jody -- Well, I don't get HBO so I won't be watching True Blood. I'm pretty meh about that one anyway. I read the first Sookie book (which the TV series is based on) and it just didn't hook me or make me want to read more in the series. Love the promo ad they've done for it, though. Very clever.

I don't get HBO so I hope True Blood comes out on DVD quick! We watch way too much TV. I'm embarrassed to admit how many shows we're looking forward to. I am cutting at least one this year, Smallville, which stunk so bad last year whenever it was on we had to open the windows and turn on the fan :).

Besides the shows mentioned above, I'm looking forward to True Blood. Vanity Fair had a great line about it -- "More grown-up than Buffy and less sweeping than the works of Anne Rice."

I'm also looking forward to 90210. I'm not getting my hopes too high, but how can I not return to the Peach Pit and Joe E. Tata?

Also Pushing Daisies -- Even though it feels like a life time ago when it was last on.

Edie -- I've been watching The Closer too. I love me some Miss Brenda Johnson and her sugar addiction.

Chasity -- I never got into Private Practice, but I'm looking forward to Grey's. I'd like to see Eric Dane get a really great love story this year. McSteamy needs more to do than just look, well, McSteamy.

PurpleRanger -- The Mentalist is the one with Simon Baker, right? I plan to check that one out too ...
