I know. I think a book club should just be fun — and not force you to read only “literary” stuff. That’s why I like my local critique group so much. We all read romance/fantasy/etc., and we’re always telling each other about new authors to try. To me, that’s what a book club should be.

A friend has a book club that seems to concentrate on more “literary” works. Pity, really. I personally would want to lean toward a book club that read something entertaining and light. Amazing what you can learn from “fluffy”.
