General musings

  • Cold hands, warm heart …

Here’s a random fact about me: I have cold hands almost all the time.

Like super-cold hands. Hands that are so cold that Wheezley tells me that I have “ghoul touch.” Hands that are so cold that people actually recoil in terror rather than shake them. Seriously. I don’t know why. Just cold-blooded, I guess. 😉

So you can see why I was amused yesterday when my friend Super Librarian Amy sent me this link for USB heating gloves. I don’t know about actually being tethered to the computer, but I might try these for $22.

Maybe then, my hands will finally be warm. While I’m working on the computer at least …

  • Facebook and more …

While the Web site was down, I finally broke down and joined Facebook, like so many of my friends and other authors have done. I have to admit that I’m totally addicted to it. It really is a cool way to keep in touch with folks.

You can follow me here on Facebook. I usually do very short posts over there, but I’ll be sharing news both on Facebook and here on the blog — can anyone say cross promotion?

And hey, if the Web site ever goes down again, you can still see what I’m up to on Facebook. (Hopefully, that won’t happen, though!)

Also, starting in November, I’ll once again be sending out my monthly e-newsletter full of my latest news, reading recommendations, recipes, and more. Go to the Contact page and click on the tab at the right to sign up for it if you haven’t already. Did I mention that I also give away free books every month? 😉

  • The most wonderful time of the year … already …

So I went to the mall this weekend and was rather bummed to see that some of the stores had their Christmas decorations out already. It’s not even Halloween yet! But there the decorations were right next to the Halloween costumes.

I don’t want to start thinking about Christmas yet. Sigh …

  • And that’s a wrap (for now) …

Okay, I think that’s enough book reviews for today. I still have about 20 more to catch up on, so you’ll be seeing more of them in the next few weeks.

    So enjoy! 😉

  • A few more kinks …

Okay, my Web site guy is ironing out a few last-minute kinks, but once that is done (this week or next), we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled (and hopefully hack-free) blog posts.
