I still haven’t heard from several of you — Tami, Michelle Lauren, Krystal, Nicole O’Dell, Marie Phillips, and Shina Laris.
When you get a chance, please send your mailing address to jennifer@jenniferestep.com so I can send your prizes to you.
If I don’t hear from you by Wednesday, Feb. 20, I’ll draw some other names for the prizes.
Happy reading! 😎
I rolled the dice last night (literally — I roll dice to come up with random numbers). Congrats to the following, who won books and T-shirts in my Valentine’s Day contest:
1) Karma Girl T-shirt: Tami
2) Hot Mama T-shirt: Amy
3) Copy of Hot Mama: Jackie Kesslar
4) Copy of Hot Mama: Michelle Lauren
5) Copy of Hot Mama: Precie
And because I’m in a good mood, I’m going to give away a few extra prizes:
6) Copy of Karma Girl: Krystal
7) Copy of Karma Girl: Nicole O’Dell
8) Copy of Karma Girl: Jeri Smith-Ready
9) Rubik’s Cube mini puzzle: Marie Phillips
10) Superhero postcards:Â Shina Laris
Winners, please e-mail your addresses to jennifer@jenniferestep.com so I can mail your prizes to you. If you’re getting a T-shirt, tell me which size you’d like, and I’ll do my best to accomodate you. Everyone else, check back around Easter. I’ll probably do another contest then.
Happy reading! :ww:
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d do a contest. Because chocolate is all well and good, but you know what you really want for V-Day is free book stuff. 😎
Here are the prizes:
1) A Karma Girl T-shirt
2) A Hot Mama T-shirt
3) A signed copy of Hot Mama
4) A signed copy of Hot Mama
5) A signed copy of Hot Mama
And, of course, I’ll throw in bookmarks with all of these — and maybe a few surprises. All you have to do to enter the contest is leave a comment and tell me what your favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is. My favorite thing? Dark chocolate hearts. Mmm!
If you want to mention the contest on your blog or MySpace page, that’s cool, too, but not a requirement.
I’ll (hopefully) draw the winners Wednesday and announce everything on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Until then, happy reading! :ww:
I got an interesting letter in the mail this week from the Salt Lake County Library System — Karma Girl has been nominated for the system’s semi-annual Reader’s Choice Award! Yeah!
According to the letter, every year the Reader’s Choice Committee selects twenty or more recently published books that have been recommended by other staff or customers. Books that have previously won the award include The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd; Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder; and His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik.
Some folks put Karma Girl on their year-end best lists (thanks Tia, Susan, and Jody), but this is the first award I’ve been nominated for. I doubt I’ll win, but it really is an honor just to be nominated. And if I do win, how cool would it be to put award-winning author in my bio? 😎
I also received a lovely e-mail this morning from Michele R. She writes:
“Oh – my – gosh! You are an amazing writer! I just finished reading HOT MAMA and the book is fantastic! … I don’t know how you came up with such a good plot but I think your writing is right up there with J.K. Rowling!”
Thanks so much Michele! This reminds me of another lady who came to one of my book signings and told me she thought Karma Girl was “better than a Nora Roberts book.” I will never forget being compared to Nora — and now J.K. Those kind of compliments are things writers never, ever forget — and what keeps us going in this crazy, often heartbreaking business.
Let’s recap. I’ve been nominated for an award, Karma Girl is better than a Nora Roberts novel, and my writing is right up there with J.K. Rowling’s. Can world domination be far behind? :ww:
