Oh, I was totally in love with Ralph Macchio when the movie came out. He knew the crane move! ;-)

I love mythology too, but I agree. You don't want to think too much about who was romancing who. It's kind of icky when you get right down to it.

I guess my point was that it's rare when the remake is better than the original -- just like it's rare when a movie is better than a book. I can only think of one of those -- Sense & Sensibility the movie is much better than the book, in my opinion, if only for the presence of Alan Rickman.

Actually I think the boy character was quite annoying in Karate Kid. *Laughs* It's nice to see remakes; however, movies made in their time era should be left alone, in a sense-- because it was good for that time.

I haven't seen Clash of the Titans yet, but I'm very fond of Greek Mythology. So I'd probably cringe if I saw the new-er edition. It seems now-a-days everyone's making Hades the evil god. Well, at least he's never cheated on Persephone (almost once, but Persephone fixed that. Not even another time after that. Haha!) Can't say the same about the other Gods though:
Poiseidon --> Medusa
Zeus --> let's not go there.
ROFL.

Anyways, going back to my former line of thought. . . past concepts are great to be re-used. . . on rare occasion. Also, it keeps the past culture alive, in a sense. But that's my opinion! =]
