You know, it’s not so bad being snowbound. Not that I’m truly snowbound. We only got about 5 inches of snow where I live, and it’s melting fast. Of course, I know that 5 inches is nothing compared to the massive amounts of snow that my friend super librarian Amy gets up in her neck of the woods in Pennsylvania. But 5 inches is fairly significant for where I live farther south.
Still, I’ve gotten a lot accomplished today — sacked up some bookmarks to mail out, did the same to some copies of Spider’s Bite that go to contest winners, updated the Web site a bit, etc. The only other thing that I really want to accomplish this weekend is editing/finishing Web of Deceit, the free short story that I’m working on to go along with Web of Lies.
I’d also like to actually read a book this weekend. I’ve been woefully slack in my reading lately. There’s just been too much going on with the launch of Spider’s Bite. But maybe I’ll change that tonight …
Wherever you are, I hope you stay warm and safe this weekend! 😉

I know that I’m a day late with this, but … Happy release day to me! Spider’s Bite is finally available. Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!
Okay, I’ll quit typing huzzah now. 😉
Seriously, though, release day is one of the best days in any author’s life because it’s the day that the rest of the world gets to read what you’ve worked so hard on for so very long. They might be my words, but so many other things go into publishing a book, from the cover art to marketing and a dozen other things behind the scenes that readers never know about. It really is a team effort, and I just want to say thanks to my editor and everyone at Pocket for all the awesome work that they’ve done on the book. Kudos!
I was a little worried about how readers would react, since Spider’s Bite is so much darker and grittier than my Bigtime books. But I did a signing this past weekend at a comic book store, and every person that I talked to was actually excited about the book being a darker read. It seems that the dark, gritty stuff is really what people are into right now.
Also, the book has gotten several great reviews at places like The Romance Dish, Smexy Books, Reading with Monie … (I know I’m leaving out a bunch of folks, but please forgive me. My brain is fried, and these are the ones that I was able to link to quickly). I just want to say thanks to everyone who took the time to read and review the book and to everyone who asked me to guest blog at their site. I really do appreciate your interest.
I’ve even gotten a few e-mails from readers already. They’ve all been really positive so far, which is awesome. Anyway, I’m just happy that everyone can finally read about Gin Blanco and her adventures in the dark, gritty city of Ashland. Happy reading! 😉
