    A conversation with me …

Summer Brooks and the rest of the folks over at the Dragon Page were nice enough to do an interview with me this week. We talked about my books, my inspirations, and even who makes the best James Bond (Daniel Craig, based on the strength of Casino Royale).

You can listen to the Podcast here. I come on at about the 16-minute mark. They’re also giving away five copies of Karma Girl and Hot Mama.

So, go check it out! :scooby:

  • Thanksgiving time again …

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Food, football, family … you just can’t get any better than that. No presents to buy, no tree to put up, just lots of turkey and lots of napping. Not necessarily in that order. 😉

But I also like Thanksgiving because it’s a day to reflect and to be grateful for our blessings. So, here’s a list of some of the many things I’m grateful for this year:

    1) My friends and family. They enrich my life in so many ways. ‘Nough said.

    2) My health and general well-being. Sure, I could afford to lose 10 pounds. I need to eat better and exercise more. And I have a cold right now, but overall, I am in excellent health.

    3) My books. This time last year, I was a nobody. Now, I’m a nobody with two books out and another one due next year. Nobody will ever be able to take that accomplishment away from me. It’s something I’ll always be proud of, even if I never sell another book (and let’s face it, that’s never a given even if you’re published).

    4) Readers. If it wasn’t for you guys, I and all the other authors out there wouldn’t be here. You make us possible. No matter who or what you read, thank you for going to the bookstore and library. For talking about books. For letting them enrich your lives.

    5) My fans. Okay, so the word fans might be a bit grandiose for me. I don’t know that I have fans (and I definitely don’t have them on the level that Nora Roberts or J.R. Ward have fans). But it always makes my day every time I get an e-mail from someone telling me how much they’ve enjoyed my books. Or when I go to a conference or book signing and someone comes over to talk to me about the books. Or just meeting people I’ve chatted with online or through my loops … it’s all good.

Of course, I have a lot more to be thankful for, but I’m not going to bore you with the rest of them. They really are too many to count. :ww:

What are you thankful for this year? Inquiring minds want to know …

  • It is done …

I have e-mailed and mailed out all the prizes for the Twelve Days of Bigtime contest. Every single one. So, if you won something, check your e-mail for a gift card or your mail box for a package.

I’m not sure when stuff will arrive, given the Thanksgiving holiday. Also, you folks in Canada might have to wait a few more days, too. Again, I’m not sure when stuff will arrive.

    But keep a lookout! :scooby:

Also, I wanted to ask you guys — what did you think about the contest? Was it fun? Totally lame? Should I do something similiar for Jinx in September? Inquiring minds want to know …

    Out and about …

Just a reminder that I’ll be signing books today from 1-3 p.m. at B Dalton Booksellers in the Bristol Mall, Bristol, Va.

Also, I was scheduled to sign today from 4-6 p.m. at Books-A-Million in Johnson City, Tenn. But there was some last-minute confusion as to whether the store had the books or not, so that one’s been rescheduled. I’ll be signing at BAM from 1-3 p.m. Nov. 24.

Hope to see you there! :joe:
