Jinx is here …

jinx.jpgAsk, and you shall receive. What did I spy in my inbox today? The new cover for Jinx! Out of the three covers, I think this one is my favorite — or maybe that’s just because I’m excited about folks being able to read the book soon.

Well, okay, not soon. But Sept. 2 will be here before you know it. Can anyone else believe it’s almost Easter? It seems like yesterday I was taking down my Christmas tree.

Not sure if I made this clear or not, but Jinx is coming out as a mass market paperback. Those are the smaller paperbacks. I think it will be a good switch for me, as the mass markets are only $7-8, instead of the $14 of the trade paperbacks. Anyway, I’m hoping the cheaper price will get more folks to try the books and result in more sales — which would mean I could write more Bigtime adventures.

Guess we’ll see in September! :ww:

I’m a big fan of the trade paperbacks. Once I start buying say all hardbacks of a series, it’s really hard for me to change to paperback, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait for Jinx.

Are you planning to do the Kingsport Convention this year? Since I know what to expect for this year, I can’t wait. This time I’ll bring a girl friend and leave the hubby at home. 🙂

Susan — Well, win the lottery and buy several thousand copies, of course. Just kidding. Maybe you could do another great review/interview for Front Street? This is me being shameless. 😉

Not sure when I’ll get ARCs but I’ll try and send one your way (or at least a PDF ARC) — if you want. Let me know.

Danette — Yeah, I like the animated covers better, too. But my publisher wanted to do a new look for the mass market re-releases. I do like the color on this one, and the girl sort of looks like Bella, so that’s good. :blossom:

Chasity — I like the bigger size, too. But I’ve gotten several e-mails from folks wondering when the mass markets are going to come out. From what I’ve seen, most romance readers like the mass markets better. I can understand that. $14 plus tax is a lot to give for a book you might not like, especially with the economy the way it is. $8, not so much. Basically, with the mms, people can get two books for the price of one.

Yep, I’m doing the Kingsport event again. Two ladies in my local writing group organize it, so I’m pretty much locked in every year. 😎

It will be the third weekend in October. Last year, they had a meet-the-authors dinner the night before. I think they’re going to do that again this year.

Not sure who all is coming this year. Last time we talked, they said they were trying to get Nora Roberts and Jim Butcher, if not for this year, then sometime in the future. I’ll keep you posted. 😉

I agree with the prices, 2 books for the price of 1 is always much, much better. I’m just a weird collectors. 🙂

Defintely keep me posted on the event. I will try my best to attend the dinner the night before. I had such a blast for the little bit of time I was at the convention this year, that I want to come back again this year (Nora or no Nora) 🙂

Jennifer, great cover! The other ones are awesome too. Besides the price difference, another reason people like MM books is because they’re easier to fit into purses.

With your next books, your name should be on top. :green:

  5. Jennifer Estep says:

Chasity — Cool. I might know more next week, if we have our monthly book meeting.

Edie — Ah yes, I hadn’t thought about the purse thing, but it does make sense.

I wish my name was on top. Maybe someday … :joecool:

I might try to do Kingsport this year — we’ll have to see if the family schedule cooperates!

PS, I have no problem paying trade pb prices for one of your books — I know I’ll like it 🙂

Jody — Aw, that’s so nice of you to say!

I think you’d have a good time at the Kingsport thing. You write for Samhain, right? Angela James came last year. She might be coming again this year.
