Holiday gift guide — TV shows …

Last week, I posted my holiday gift guide for music. Up this week are TV shows:

Strike Back Season OneStrike Back: Season One

Strike Back: Season Two

Amazon / iTunes

Wheezley bought me the first season earlier this year, and I was immediately hooked. This show follows two elite soldiers — Stonebridge and Scott — as they battle bad guys around the globe. The first season focuses on the hunt for a terrorist who is after a chemical weapon. Season two focuses on the battle to keep some nuclear triggers out of the wrong hands. Season three recently aired on Cinemax, which is also currently airing a prequel series.

The show features lots of action, adventure, sticky situations, and daring rescues. It would be good for someone who enjoys military/spy thrillers.

But be warned: there is some nudity as well. It is a rare episode when Scott doesn’t hook up with someone.

Archer Season OneArcher: Season One

Amazon / iTunes

Archer: Season Two

Amazon / iTunes

Archer: Season Three

Amazon / iTunes

Archer: Season Four

Amazon / iTunes

This show is part spy thriller, part workplace comedy. Sterling Archer is one of the world’s best spies … who just happens to work for his mother. And his codename is Duchess. And you get the idea. Add to that an office full of spies and other employees, and you’ve got a recipe for laughter. This would be good for the comedy fan on your list.

But be warned: This might be a cartoon, but this show has a lot of bawdy sexual humor and situations. It is definitely not for kids.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Season Three

Yes, it is a cartoon about talking ponies who live in the land of Equestria, where all things are horse-named. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not awesome. Seriously, kids and adults alike will enjoy this show, which features lots of great takes on pop culture movies, characters, and more. My favorite character is Twilight Sparkle (the purple pony) who loves to read and lives in a library. Like I said before, it’s awesome.

So there are my TV show picks. What TV shows are you guys hoping to give and receive this holiday season?

I love My Little Ponies. They are SO MUCH BETTER than the ones we grew up with. My husband likes them too. He even has a t-shirts with Rainbow Dash on it he got at Hot Topic. LOL

Have you seen the one where the ponies are humans? Creepy.

It really is a fun show. I love all the pop culture references they do. Oh, yes. We have several pony T-shirts. The SO has one with the Cutie Mark Crusaders on it, and I have a couple too. They have lots of them at Redbubble too.

Yep, I saw the movie where the ponies are people. That was kind of creepy. LOL.
