Heart of Venom cover …

Heart of VenomSome of you have seen this already over at Heroes and Heartbreakers, who did a cover reveal last week (thanks so much, guys!), but I thought I would also post it here on my blog.

Today, I’m sharing the cover art for Heart of Venom, the ninth book in my Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series. Huzzah!

Once again, the cover was done by Tony Mauro. He always does such a fabulous job with the covers, and this one is no exception. I think it looks really, really great, and it fits a scene in the story well. I especially love the spider rune on the tombstone. I thought that was a really cool and clever way to use the rune on the cover.

Here’s the description of Heart of Venom. As always, if you don’t want to be spoiled, you may want to skip reading the description:

When a terror from the past threatens Gin’s friend and body-disposer, Sophia, Gin will stop at nothing to protect her, even if it means walking straight into a killer’s trap. Meanwhile, the rocky romance between Gin and Owen reaches a turning point — can they reunite and rekindle their love? Or will the things Gin has been forced to do in her line of work as the deadly assassin the Spider keep them apart forever? Assuming, that is, she survives long enough to find out …

Heart of Venom is set to be released on Aug. 27 (it’s a September book). There will be at least one more book in the series after this one.

Heart of Venom is up for pre-order at Amazon and Books-A-Million. It should be up for pre-order soon at Barnes & Noble and other booksellers.

Anyway, hope everyone enjoys this look at the cover.

    That kills me!!

Oh, forgot to ask but at what point do you think a decision about more books may be made? I know squat about the publishing world so will the powers that be wait until book ten is on the shelves or some time earlier?

I should know something in a few months, since that’s when I have to turn the 10th book in. If/when something happens, I’ll announce it here on my blog, Facebook, etc.

Great cover but they all have been! I was so glad to see you write “Right now, I’m under contract for 10 books. I am hoping to write more in the series beyond that, but we’ll see what happens.” I love that you still want to play in Gin’s world longer because I do too. For more books, we must all buy more copies and bully/cajol everyone we know into trying them as well because a little taste will get them hooked. Thanks for taking care of your fans!

Thanks! And I agree. I think all the covers in the series have been really good. Tony has done a great job on all of them.

I really enjoy writing the characters, and I do have ideas for several more Gin books, so we’ll see what happens, but fingers crossed. Thanks for all the nice words about the series. I appreciate them.

This cover is truly brilliant, but you killed me with the release date!!! Do you know how many days are still left until august???

    🙂

Can’t wait for my favorite assassin, as always.

    Jennifer, you rock!!!

Thanks! I like the cover a lot too. You know that DEADLY STING will be out on March 26, right? So there’s not too much longer to go until that one is released. Hope you enjoy the book when it is published. Happy reading!

I was lucky enough to be able to read Deadly Sting and now I have to post my review [which will be sometime this weekend] but I must say: “JENNIFER ESTEP YOU ARE A LITERARY GENIUS’….I was among the many who were upset about how Widow’s Web turned out and I can’t say much but you are phenomenal and I applaud you. I have not invested this much interest in a fictional couple since Roarke & Eve Dallas in the book “Innocent in Death’ and Sam McCall & Jason Morgan on General Hospital (LOL)….I am salivating to see what happens next with them and where they end up. I hope that we will get more than 10 books because I for one want to know about you-know-who from the you-know-what in Deadly Sting.

For everyone else if you haven’t pre-ordered Deadly Sting you need to because that’s one book you don’t want to miss. I have it pre-ordered for my Nook.

Thanks! I appreciate all the nice words about the book. I’m glad that you enjoyed DEADLY STING, and thanks for taking the time to read/review the book. I’m glad that you are enjoying Gin and Owen. Those are some great couples to be included with.
