Dark Frost released …

Dark Frost, the third book in my Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series, has been released. Huzzah!

Gwen, Logan, Vic, and the rest of the Mythos Academy gang are back for more adventures and battles against Loki and his Reapers of Chaos. Here’s a little more info about the book. Note that this does contain some mild spoilers if you haven’t read Kiss of Frost yet:

I’ve seen so many freaky things since I started attending Mythos Academy last fall.  I know I’m supposed to be a fearless warrior, but most of the time, I feel like I’m just waiting for the next Bad, Bad Thing to happen. Like someone trying to kill me — again.

Everyone at Mythos Academy knows me as Gwen Frost, the Gypsy girl who uses her psychometry magic to find lost objects — and who just may be dating Logan Quinn, the hottest guy in school.  But I’m also the girl the Reapers of Chaos want dead in the worst way.  The Reapers are the baddest of the bad, the people who murdered my mom.  So why do they have it in for me?  It turns out my mom hid a powerful artifact called the Helheim Dagger before she died. Now, the Reapers will do anything to get it back. They think I know where the dagger is hidden, but this is one thing I can’t use my magic to find. All I do know is that the Reapers are coming for me — and I’m in for the fight of my life.

You can read the first chapter of the book here.

I really like writing action scenes, and I think this is probably the most action-packed book of the series so far. Anyway, I hope everyone has as much fun reading the book as I did writing it. Happy reading!

Got it first thing this morning and can’t wait to read it. I hope the errors on the page for the map key (in the ebook) aren’t a precursor of errors in the rest of the book though…

Thanks! I appreciate that. Hope you enjoy the book.

I’m looking at a copy of the map in a book that I have, and I think you are confusing the Ts for Fs, if that makes sense? The font on the map can be a little hard to read, but the Fs are definitely longer than the Ts are. Hope that helps.

My EPUB version has a “Library of Antiquities” entry in the table of contents, right after the Acknowledgements. There’s no image there; it’s all plain text and matches ~B’s list.

If there’s supposed to be a map there, it’s missing.

Hmm. I don’t know about the e-book. I was looking at a paper copy of the book. I will pass your comments on to my publisher and see what they say.

@Rev. Bob, my copy is an ePub as well (from Kobo) and the map image is on the page following the map key.

Ah. I was thrown by the key being “page 1 of 1” and was not expecting the map to be an untitled page after it.

Plus, I need to catch up on the series, so I’m not reading the book just yet.

My comments were about the ebook. It’s like the publisher OCR’d the funky font from the pbook and didn’t bother to read the results. Thankfully I’m about 2/3rds through the book (loving it btw) and it appears the errors are just an issue in the map key (not a big deal, but I’d think they’d fix it at some point) and not in the story itself.

Weird. It may just be that the map didn’t translate that well into the e-book or that particular e-book format. Anyway, I’ve passed the comments on to my publisher, and they are looking into it.

Glad you are enjoying the book.
