Books, books, books …

Giving books for presents makes me happy — and so does getting books as presents myself. New books! Wha-ha-ha!

Okay, I think that’s enough evil laughter for one day. Here are some books that I got for Christmas this year:

Baby Its Cold Outside by Addison Fox (contemporary romance)

Kissing Comfort by Jo Goodman (historical western romance)

Princess of the Midnight Ball by Jessica Day George (fantasy young adult)

Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins (contemporary romance

I’ve been reading quite a few contemporary romance and young adult books over the past couple of months, and it looks like it’s a trend that’s going to continue into 2012.

Of course, there are already several books I’m looking forward to this year, including Lothaire (paranormal romance) by Kresley Cole and Rainshadow Road (contemporary romance) by Lisa Kleypas.

What books did you guys get for Christmas? What are you reading and enjoying right now?

I got quite a few books for Christmas:
The River of Time series by Lisa T. Bergren
Half-Blood and Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Eternal Rider and Immortal Rider by Larissa Ione

I’ve read all of them already except the last two. The River of Time series and Obsidian were my favorites. I couldn’t put them down! 🙂

I don’t think there’s ANYTHING better than books for Christmas! I got a stack, and they were fabulous!
Neverwhere and Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman (I’m in love with the man)
Daughter Of Smoke and Bone, Laini Taylor
    Iron Knight, Julie Kagawa
    Inheritence, Christopher Paolini
    Hereafter, Tara Hudson

And I got some money… so I bought more books XD

I keep meaning to read Anasi Boys. A couple of folks have recommended that one to me. The Graveyard Book by Gaiman is interesting, if you haven’t read that one. I need to catch up on the rest of Kagawa’s series.

I ADORE The Graveyard Book… Uh, well, I kind of just love everything by Neil Gaiman :S

I really LOVED American Gods, and Mr Nancy was one of the most fascinating characters, so I have really high hopes Anasi Boys. I’ve seen it really highly recommended, and I have a friend (the same who switched me onto your books!) who recommended it to me, so yay! Excitement!

I kind of haven’t started on the Iron Fey series… I have the others out from the library, but it’s nice owning one of them, in any case 😀

I have a couple of friends who really enjoy Gaiman’s work. GOOD OMENS by Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is interesting too, although it is a little more madcap and reads more to me like a Pratchett book than a Gaiman one.

Aaaah, I wondered about that one. I actually had it out from the library for a while, but couldn’t get to it in time… I have this awful habit of getting books out, then buying a stack of eBooks, and reading them first >___<
I still TOTALLY plan on reading it. THANK YOU for the recommendation and reminder! I've not read muchh by Terry Pratchett (only 2 books), but I really love him… I kind of group him, Douglas Adams and Jasper Fforde into the same deliciuosly absurd category. Must read more 😀

ANYWAY! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hiijack your comment thread 🙂

You’re welcome. Good Omens is definitely in a more madcap style than what I’ve read of Gaiman, but I thought it was an interesting collaboration between the two writers. Hope you get a chance to check it out again.
