Finished McKettricks of Texas: Austin by Linda Lael Miller. This is her latest book about the McKettrick family and the last in this particular contemporary romance trilogy.

Nurse Paige Remington has never quite gotten over her first live, rodeo champion Austin McKettrick — and Austin still has feelings for her as well. Now that Paige’s two sisters are marrying Austin’s two brothers, the two of them are thrown together again — and realize that they are just as attracted to each other as ever. But when Austin is shot by some folks bent on revenge against the McKettrick family, Paige becomes his nurse and is determined to nurse him back to health, even if he may break her heart in the meantime just like he did when they were kids …

I really like Miller’s books — I think she writes realistic characters and sweet romances with a great western flavor. However, I didn’t think that this was the best book in the trilogy just because it didn’t seem like there was that much going on. Sure, there’s the rustling plotline, which is finally resolved in this book after being introduced in the first one. But other than that, it’s just a lot of Austin and Paige talking/bickering, and everyone on the McKettrick ranch preparing for the double wedding that’s coming up. There just didn’t seem to be as much conflict between the heroine/hero in this book as in the first two.

Overall, though, this was another fairly entertaining read from Miller and a nice conclusion to the trilogy. Thumbs up.
