949 and counting …

Finished At Grave’s End by Jeaniene Frost. This is the third book in her Night Huntress urban fantasy series.

In this one, half-human, half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire lover Bones are up to their necks in trouble once more. Everyone in the undead world knows who Cat is now, which makes her undercover work for the government that much harder. And with a nasty female vampire out to eliminate Bones, Cat and her friends are in more danger than ever …

I like this series a lot because it’s just fun — there’s blood, sex, violence, and a lot of action. And Bones is a great bad boy hero with a heart of gold. But this entry wasn’t quite as fun as the others, mainly because of what happens to one of the main characters and how it affects everyone else. (I won’t spoil it here). But that plot thread does add a lot of emotional impact to the book.

Overall, this is another good entry in a solid urban fantasy series. If you can’t get enough vampires, check out these books. Thumbs up.
