Finished Warlord by Elizabeth Vaughan. This is the third and final book in her Warprize trilogy about a healer named Lara and the warlord Keir who loves her.

In this one, Lara and Keir finally reach his homeland, where Lara must go before a council of elders to be confirmed as a true Warprize (a move that will help unite their peoples/cultures). Of course, there are people opposed to this, and Lara and Keir find themselves in danger more than once, as they struggle to survive.

I really loved Warprize, the first book in this series. The second book, Warsworn, was okay (if a bit depressing since it deals with a deadly plague). Warlord falls somewhere in between the two — better than Warsworn but not quite as good as Warprize. I wish there had been a little more to the plot than just Lara being confirmed as the Warprize, but Vaughan wraps everything up nicely at the end. Overall, this is a great trilogy for folks who love fantasy romance. Thumbs up.
