In addition to cleaning my desk this weekend, I also got in the ol’ recipe box in an attempt to figure out what I want to make for Thanksgiving dinner. Can’t believe it’s two weeks from Thursday. Another year’s almost gone. Sigh.
But anyway, back to the food. My mom is taking care of the turkey and cornbread dressing (so good … I’m already drooling). I think I’ll roast some red potatoes and baby carrots in vegetable broth in the oven and make my sweet-and-sour pasta salad. I’m also planning on making a chocolate Bundt cake.
But the thing I’m most excited about is the cranberry sauce. This year, I think I’ll be bold and make my own. I found a recipe that calls for cranberries, dried apricots, honey, water, and orange juice. Sounds good, doesn’t it? :scooby:
What about you guys? What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?

Wow your cranberry sauce sounds good. This year my husband and I will be making our own full Thanksgiving meal for the first time. I don’t know how this will go over. I’m a little scared. We decided that we would make our own and an invite a needy family from our neighborhood to join us. I hope we don’t disappoint. I think I’ll use your recipe so at least one thing will be good.
By the way. I finished Jinx last month and it was Fantastic! Thanks for the great books.
Shannon — You’re braver than I am. I leave the hard part (the turkey and dressing) up to my mom. I’m better at side dishes and desserts anyway. That’s really, really nice what you’re doing for the other family. I’m sure everything will turn out great.
Thank you for the nice words. So glad you enjoyed it!
My menu = MIL’s choice. I’ve only had T-giving at my house once, and since I was due to give birth at any moment, I didn’t have to do much of the cooking
.
What’s on the menu all depends on whether I decide to go to Golden Corral or 8 China Buffet.
And if you don’t mind, could you please post that cranberry sauce recipe?
Jody — Hosting it and not actually having to cook? Sounds like you had it made that year.
PurpleRanger — Sure, I can post the recipe.
